Who doesn’t love a good burger? I usually like to make different burgers rather than make the same one every single time because that just gets old, but this one is so delicious that we had it like 3 weeks in a row. This is so quick and easy to make and also kid approved! To switch it up, you can make it with grass fed beef, ground turkey, or ground bison! I’ve made it all three ways and you can’t go wrong!
Ingredients for Burgers:
(Makes 6-8)
2 pounds ground beef, bison, or turkey
4 jalapenos minced, seeds removed
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 tablespoon coconut aminos
1 tablesoon paleo bbq sauce
2 tablespoons chipotle chili pepper seasoning
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon oregano
1/4 teaspoon cayenne
Directions for Burgers:
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and mix well with your hands.
- Make 8 quarter pound burgers and place on the grill for 5-6 minutes per side.
- Top it off with your favorite toppings! I topped mine off with avocado, arugula, and bbq sauce!
Ingredients for Plantain Buns:
(Makes 4 bun halves)
1 large ripe plantain
1 egg, whisked
3 tablespoons coconut flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1-2 tablespoons coconut oil
Directions for Plantain Buns:
- Combine all ingredients except for coconut oil in a food processor or blender and blend/process until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a ziplock bag and cut off one corner to use as your pastry bag.
- Grease a skillet pan with the coconut oil over medium-low heat.
- Use your pastry bag to squeeze out 4 circles of dough about the same size as your burgers.
- Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until firm and not falling apart.
- ENJOY! These are delicious and may you remind you of a pancake!
